One Health

One Health is a multi-disciplinary approach that bridges environmental, human and veterinary health disciplines. This field has primarily focused on infectious disease at the epicenter, however, with the first One Health Degree programs in the country (MHS, PhD, certificate) the Department of Environmental and Global Health heavily incorporates environmental impacts on health and disease processes and outcomes.

This is accomplished through a systems thinking transverse approach to solving complex global health problems. Several faculty in the Department are working at transverse intersections of toxicology, infectious disease, environmental modeling and surveillance, exposure measurement and social and cultural behavior. Visit their profiles to explore what research our department is doing in One Health.
