On February 18th, 2020, Dr. Anthony Maurelli’s research, “Chlamydial MreB Directs Cell Division and Peptidoglycan Synthesis in Escherichia coli in the Absence of FtsZ Activity,” was published in American Society for Microbiology’s mBio journal. Through the work done in his lab, Dr. Maurelli and his team were able to discover that how these parasitic pathogens replicate diverges from a nearly universal norm.
